Meet the Managing Director

Ollie Blaize-Ricketts leads EPX IT as Managing Director. Ollie is responsible for the day-to-day running of the business and ensuring every client relationship is supported with the right expertise, clear communication and a consistently high level of delivery.

Working closely with the wider leadership team, Ollie ensures EPX IT delivers on its core commitment: proactive, well-managed IT that leadership teams can plan around with confidence. His focus is on operational excellent and client experience - making sure the promises EPX IT makes are the promises client's experience.

Meet the Founder

EPX IT was founded by Mark Pennington in 2005. As Founder and Chairman, Mark remains closely involved in the business at a strategic level - working directly with clients, particularly during the early stages of a new relationship or when organisations are navigating more complex decisions around AI strategy, security, cloud infrastructure or AI. 

Mark's involvement is not operational - it's strategic. His role is to ensure that new client conversations are honest, business-led and grounded in outcomes rather than technical detail. That's why, when you book an introductory call, you are speaking directly with Mark.

I founded EPX IT because I believed technology should be an enabler - something that helps businesses operate, grow and make confident decisions, not something that creates disruption or uncertainty. That belief has shaped how we work ever since.

Over time, our role has evolved beyond traditional IT support. Today, we help leadership teams think more strategically about technology - from managing risk and cost, to making sure systems genuinely support how the business operates and where it’s heading.

We focus on proactive management, clear communication and honest conversations. That means fewer surprises, better visibility and IT that leadership teams can plan around with confidence.

We know no two businesses are the same. That’s why our approach is flexible, reliable and human-led - built around understanding how organisations actually work, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.

As EPX IT continues to grow, our focus remains on delivering real value, building long-term relationships and creating a culture where people feel supported to do their best work. That culture is central to the service our clients experience every day.

Our Story

Built on experience. Shaped by how businesses use technology today.

EPX began in 2005 with a simple focus: helping organisations make technology work reliably for their business. What started as a small team providing IT and networking support has grown steadily into a managed IT services provider supporting businesses across a wide range of sectors across the UK.

Over the years, EPX has expanded through organic growth, acquisitions and continual investment in people, systems and capability. That growth has always been deliberate - driven by the needs of our clients rather than technology trends.

From our early days providing subcontracted IT support, we made a clear decision to focus solely on business IT, recognising early on that organisations needed partners who understood the operational and commercial impact of technology - not just the technical detail.

Growth with purpose

As EPX grew, so did the complexity of the environments we supported. Through acquisitions in 2014, 2015 and 2021, we brought together experienced teams, broadened our expertise and strengthened our ability to support growing businesses with more demanding IT requirements.

Alongside this growth, we continually refined how we work - investing in systems, automation and processes that allow us to deliver proactive support, clear communication and consistent service at scale. 

Our move to new offices in Stafford in 2020 marked another step forward, enabling a hybrid working model and collaborative environment that supports both our team and our clients.

Today, EPX IT is a team of around 25 specialists, united by a shared belief that IT should be reliable, well-managed and aligned with business needs - not a source of disruption or uncertainty. 

Why we rebranded in 2026

EPX Technical Services is now EPX IT. This wasn’t a cosmetic change. It reflected how EPX - and the role of IT - had evolved.

Over time, our work increasingly moved beyond traditional IT support into strategy, consultancy and advisory-led services, including cloud planning, cybersecurity governance and AI strategy and implementation. More of our conversations were taking place at leadership and board level, focused on risk, growth, cost control and long-term outcomes.

The new EPX IT brand better represents:

  • Our role as a strategic IT partner, not just a support provider
  • Our focus on proactive management and visibility, rather than firefighting
  • Our growing expertise in AI, consultancy and business-led technology planning

It also reflects how our clients see us - as a trusted partner helping them make informed decisions about technology in an increasingly complex landscape.
